Both weeks hitting some fantastic shots under real pressure.
Matty is a great example of someone who, at his best, really gets the idea of creating SHOTS.
His golf has been honed and developed on the magnificent links of Royal Liverpool where he had a highly creditable top 10 finish when The Open was last staged at Hoylake.
We have spent many hours on the course at Royal Liverpool, the picture here is of the two of us on a freezing cold day in January of this year.
The golf course is a unique CONTEXT and our brain responds to context and environment. On course coaching can get you so much more into SKILLS not just swings.
This involves good questions and a willingness to be absorbed in what the golf course is asking you. By being absorbed in the shots, you are trying to play your start to develop more swing FEELS as opposed to swing thoughts.
Matthew Jordan embodied this over the past couple of weeks.
Well played, Matty! It’s in there!!
