Preparations are now well under way for the 143rd Open which returns to Royal Liverpool. Without question a great test of links golf. The winner will have to display an array of shot making skills.
We all witnessed Phil Mickelson securing his 1st Open title in 2013 at Muirfield. He will shortly hand back the most coveted trophy in the game of golf and I expect many of you will also think back to 2006 when Tiger Woods tamed the Hoylake links with a display of course management and self-management which was quite simply incredible to behold. As we know, Tiger has recently undergone surgery and we can only hope he will be part of the field in July. The winner of The Open will not only control his golf ball, but he will also be required to control himself.
That said about The Open, what about YOUR game?
• How is the year going?
• Are YOU making progress?
• Are you ENJOYING your golf?
• Are YOU playing the golf you are CAPABLE of?
The season is about at the half way stage now but it can still be a great OPPORTUNITY to play some GREAT golf and get back the FUN and ENJOYMENT that may be missing. You can and should continue to work on your swing but a CHANGE of MINDSET is probably going to be the KEY factor. We all get stuck in a RUT and at times, we need some FRESH ideas and a different perspective.
